It has been a pleasure and a good ex- perience for all members of the staff. I sincerely hope that you and your possible descendants enjoy this year’s 1968 RED DEVIL for many years to come. I would also like to thank Mrs. Tuck and Mr. Stanly for the cooperation and the needed help that they provided during the harder times of producing the 1968 RED DEVIL ANNUAL. Sincerely yours ROGER DALE MENARD EDITOR 3 (triste tinlahniir To you, Mrs, Tressie Holaway, we of the 1968 Red Devil Staff dedicate this annual. For your unflagging devotion and untiring efforts to this school and your pupils, we endeavor 4 in this small way to thank you. j upermtenfonts Menage Friends: I am sure that if any of you had the opportunity to choose the time you would live in, you could not have selected a more exciting period than we are in now. A very few years ago none of us dreamed that man would circle the earth in 90 minutes, prevent polio, make a closeup pictorial record of the moon and Mars, send television pictures through the air or alter the educational processes. We know it is necessary that we change education to keep abreast of the times and meet the demands of our modern society. This yearbook highlights some of the changes, and gives you the student a keep sake of the most endearing period of your life. I want to commend the students and faculty for your excellent work in developing this attractive and informative annual. It will become more valuable to you in the years ahead. I wish to extend warmest personal regards to each person represented in this yearbook. Sincerely, Curtis Bradshaw, Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools 6 Hr. 3L(l. J 'tmws S duml Ifuicirit Hcmhcr Jlonurn Parish .- rluml Bnarti 7 principals Message The Pickering Yearbook Staff and sponsor deserve commendation for their untiring work in assembling the 1967-1968 Annual. I am sure this book will often be used by the present students to re- flect your pleasures and rewards received as students from our school. Let me urge you to be a contributor to all phases of your school, as how you perform here lays the groundwork of how you will face other problems in life. Let me encourage you to start early and contribute your full ability, so when you reflect back on your school days you will recall them as one of your first and most important successes in life.
