1967 RED DEVIL Pickering High School EDITOR: David Jordan For though from out our bourne of Time and Place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar. We, the members of the 1967RedDevilStaff, and students of Pickering High School, dedicate this annual to you, Mrs. Gertrude Hemperly. As a teacher devoted to the task of helping educate the stu- dents of a better and more fulfilled life, we are ever grateful. Grateful to you, not only as a teacher, but as a kindhearted, understanding person, giving of your- self to help others. For this we thank you. Mrs. Ima Villers We, the members of the 1967 Red Devil Staff, and members of Pickering High School, dedicate this annual to you Mrs. Ima Villers. A teacher who has been most effective in furthering the educa- tion of our students deserves recognition. Recognition for your time and effort and your unselfishness in giving to the student shows your interest in the school. For this, we pay this tribute. EDITOR: DAVID JORDAN Editor’s Message I hope that this has been a very memorable year for you, the students of Pickering High School. The staff and 1 have worked hard to make it an even more memorable year by putting together this 1967 RED DEVIL ANNUAL. As the time passes 1 hope that you can look back on it and remember this special yearbook. I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Tuck, Mr. Read, and to Mr. Stanly for their valuable time and patience in helping us produce such a fine yearbook. Editor David Hub Jordan Annual Staff ADMINISTRATION I should like to take this opportunity to commend the faculty and students of Pickering High School who have given freely of their time and effort to make it possible for us to enjoy the many activities which are presented in this yearbook. It records people and events not merely in terms of the observable in the classroom and at recreation, but also reveals much of the deeper meaning that high school graduation and training can have in in the lives of boys and girls. The warmhearted feeling and fine professional spirit demonstrated by teachers and students in your school is an inspiration to all of us. I realize, too, that this remarkable achievement cannot be accomplished without cooperation and leadership ability. It is with great satisfaction that 1 am able to speak of you as my friends , and with deep sincerity, wish you continued success. Sincerely Curtis Bradshaw, Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools Vernon Parish School Board and Staff I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Pickering Y earbook Staff and sponsors for their untiring work in assembling this publication. May this yearbook be a reminder of your school days, including both study and play. When this book is opened in the future by you, it will produce lingering thoughts of things that were included in your school days. Above all let this be an inspiration to make all future phases of your life as full as possible, so when you do look on the past you will feel that you have accomplished the maximum in your life.
