It is our sincere desire that as you leaf through our year- book you will find that we have recaptured many fond and happy moments of the past year which you will treasure for the rest of your life. Vickie Jordan Editor We dedicate this annual to Mrs. Pearl Terrell. You have devoted your time and talents to better prepare us for the future. We express our sincere appreciation for the guidance you have given to us as students and individuals. Superintendent’s Message It is a privilege to bring you greetings from the Vernon Parish School Board and to compliment you for making possible a record of your school activities for us to review and enjoy for many years to come. The pictorial record of buildings and facilities show signs of progress but these things are only empty shells without you—our students and teachers. The true worth of any school is shown in the quality of its product. Students, you have the privilege of living in the most exciting, challenging and turbulent period in man’s history, but with this privilege will come great and grave responsibility. The way you face the pressures and solve the problems will determine tomorrow’s world. Best wishes to each individual represented in this publication. Curtis Bradshaw Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools Principal’s Message Many of the moments, which we shall forever treasure will be remembered each time we open this book. There will be pleasant memories of students seeking to master a strong curriculum, literary and athletic competition and the satisfaction of achieving goals which at times seemed be- yond our reach. As we look on our record in school, may it serve as an inspiration to us to reach higher goals in our future life. As your principal, may I extend to each student, teacher and employee who comprises the school family, my sincere thanks for an outstanding school year, and may 1 wish each of you the best of everything in the future. Finly S. Stanly Principal Mr. J. T. Staggs, Board Member Vernon Parish School Board and Staff In Memoriam He lived life to the fullest. Enjoying every moment of it. Through an unfortunate accident He left us for a better world. He is in God's hands now. We all miss you Dennis Almon Johnson. FINLY S. STANLY MRS. ALLENE High School BLACKBURN Principal H.
