QE tu ii V3 1 I I I The Junior Class of 1956-57 started with seventy-nine students who had a great ambition for a successful year, the same kind of ambition which put the exclamation point in Ok1ahornal Many dreams were fulfilled as the year came to a close. Some of our memories are: That wonderful day which we awaited for eleven years: The day we ordered our class rings. The exciting football games--our main interest being money--money--money, or working the concession stand. The basketball teams with four of our Junior boys and two spirited Junior cheerleaders. The night of Dec. 6, when the talented Junior girls presented the Junior Class Play-- Little Women. The climactic event of all the unforgetable starry night of the Junior-Senior Banquet with the wonderful food and entertainment. 26

It is of some interest that , as Oklahoma was a boomer and new among the states, so was Picher a boomer and new among the cities. We feel that we have achieved alandmarkin tradition when our Alumni Parenis of 1957 grad- uates are so many. They are part of the generation which has helped make and stablize our city centering one of the greatest lead and zinc mining sect- ions of the world. It has played a magnificent role in Ok1ahorna's fifty years of growth from teepees to towers .
