Tc Billy Marie and Paul Douthitt, a married couple who share life's work as teachers we of Picher High and the community are fortunate indeed to hive such a team for they truly follow the creed of good teachers, in that to teach is to love and to teach boys and girls is more important than to teach subjects. We proudly salute their achievements in molding the lives of our students. We hope they will serve as an inspiration to other young couples who wish to share a common dream of community service. TEACHERS CREED I believe in boys and girls the men and women of a great tomorrowg that whatsoever the boy soweth the man shall reap. lbelieve in the curse of ignorance' in the efficacy of schoolsg in the dignity of teaching and in the joy of serving others. I believe in wisdom as revealed in human lives as well as in the pages of the printed bookg in lessons taught, not so much by the precept as by exampleg in ability to work with the hands as well as to think with the heady in everything that makes life large and lovely. I believe in beauty in the schoolroom, in the home, in daily life, and out-of-doors. ' I believe in laughterg in loveg in faithg in all ideals and distant hopes that lure us on. We Seniors feel very proud of our many endeavors and achiev- ments which will be needed to guide and protect us in the daily routine of life. We shall never forget that day in the Spring of life when we assumed our responsibilities as junior high students. During this time we were lead by Jack Morris and Jeanne Aton as class leaders. We reigned over junior high for three years as Zinco royalty. What joys accompanied the maturing Summer which was before us as Sophomores. This year Johnny Bayliss was class president and we were initiated into senior high school. Our prom was tops. Soon to make its debut was our Junior year. Along with it comes the remembrance of the beautiful Autumnof our courses. There was gaiety in the air and pleasure everywhere as Mick Heatherly led us through our Junior play and Jr.-Sr. banquet. This year we received our class rings and three of our classmates represented us at Oklahoma Girls' and Boys' State. The Winter of our school days as Seniors came. Randall Howard presided as our president. Highlights of our Winter season were the Jr.-Sr. Watermelon feed, Senior play, trip and finally our graduation. lg will be from a background of work and knowledge that we, the Seniors graduate. We will not leave empty han ed when we sing our good-bys and farewells. Days of rest and security, days of work and uneasiness will nm' challenge us unprepared. Let us hope that we never forget the deep-rooted adviselof our beloved and kind teachers and benefactors, the gardeners of our hearts: Love and respect to parents and countryg above everything else and in all circumstances: Love of God. s BILL BOYD BARBARA DOWNS to --J' SIDNEY HARRIS '- ,- Eh ,Qt s-E3 ifx -ev- ' MICKEY LARAMORE JOHNNY BAYLISS 495 5 'X RONNIE KROKROSKIA CAROL SUE MOORE 2 '-vw THQ? As the Seniors suc- ceeded, so we succeeded alsog as they produced, so did weg and as they failed, we failed also. We have followed them through all these years and have reached the Autumn of our school days. Now we shall proceed to advance into the Winter of our courses, but not without vast reserves of happiness and hope ., The abundance of the preceding seasons will help us carry through wind and storm and hold our positions and even offer us the means of improving our lot. Good luck to our graduates and may We profit from their good examples. 21 IP 9 'mv 1' -K' 1 1J11L b1111l11 Lb 1.VLfx,1I L r1.e11 P11531 1211 1 1rdx1111 W111er1'1r1111.r Daud Y 1111 Q' egg' C 6116116 '11, Lrry X11111l'1J LL, fk 131111111 s1111!1.r 111 he N1r1111'x1111 S 4' it Q -5,-4' in 'KS' Irmmy Dav1s Robert Cramer M rna Walker K l L b111or11Lr111o11 1: Dux 1511e Trcrcu Qin 1?
