44 After a strenuous but successful football season, our Dancing Band looked forward to a quiet winter of concert music. Then the announcement was made that the band was scheduled to perform at the Music Educators' National Convention in March! Practice is necessary for perfection, so all the little tooters again had to put on their dancing shoes once or twice a week. The band was also given the honor of putting on the finale at the Cultural Olympics, which are held every year at Convention Hall in Philadelphia. The annual band concert was held on March 13 and 14. This year, as always, the band under the direction of Walter S. Sample, had a year filled with hard work, much fun, and the satis- faction of knowing that its many performances were appreciated by all who witnessed them.
