What extracurricular activities do the students have? Where is the college located? These are a few of the many questions you might hear if you happen to walk into Room ll during club period. Miss Kelly, as the sponsor of this lively group of seniors, helped members of the club to obtain catalogues from numerous colleges and secure speakers to present the merits of various schools. Galam The National Honor Society is an elective organization which was established in 1925. lts members are selected in accordance with their traits of character, service, leadership and scholar- ship. Only students who are in the upper third of their class are eligible. Five percent are elec- ted in their junior year and ten percent in their senior year. The purpose is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship and stimulate a desire to render ser- vice to t e school. It also helps to promote worthy leadership and encourage the development of character. The officers of the class of '52 were: President--Richard Kraynak Vice President --Shirley Rowan Secretary-- june Metzgar Treasurer --Esther Crouthamel Historian --Shirley Smith Every year it is the custom to have a Christmas dance sponsored by the National Honor Society. The members spend many hours decorating and are rewarded with very good attendance. Membership in this organization is the highest honor a student can obtain.
