Learning How To Play ls An Art PERHAPS MORE than any other activity in school, ath- letics gives students opportunity to relax, enjoy lite, and keep physically tit. The modern program of athletics is a departure from the old program ot calis- tlienics the one, two, three, tour, chin yourselt once more type of training. instead, competitive games are arranged, with students classified according to age, size, and the like. Good sportsmanship is stressed always, and the co-ordination ot mind and muscle helps start the participant on a lite-long program ot good physical habits. COACHES liavtt an etzsy lite. All they need do is blow a whistle now anti then, point out mistakes and demonstrate better technique in Vtllltltlbl armies . . . and stir-k around and drill the teams for countless OUR SCHOOL has been fortunate in its choice of physi- cal education instructors. The girls receive excellent training from experts in volleyball, basketball, tennis, dancing, and marching. The boys learn about boxing, track, tennis, football, baseball, basketball, and hand- ball from men who have excelled as athletes and proved themselves excellent as instructors. Happiness is based on sound health in most cases. Playing helps throw ott the tensions that bring on turrowed brows. A happy person is one who can give his tull attention to the job at hand . . . work or play. hours after every other teacher has acne home! But they stay happy!
