For the first time in many seasons the Braves grid-men recorded a win- ning record on both the varsity and junior varsity level. Both teams finished at 4 wins and 3 loses. Highlights of the season were: the first victory by a Braves' team over Bagdad and wins over Baboquivari, Sherman Indian, and Judson. Paul Reuter and Charlie Lucky were the coaching staff for the team. Thirty- six boys finished the season. Many, however, quit before the end. Coach Reuter summarized his feelings about the season. We accomplished two of the goals I had set. We had a winning season on the varsity level, and we de- veloped a winning JV program. How- ever, we fell short on the third goal - improving on the number of boys par- ticipating. I was very disappointed with the large number of boys who quit. The most valuable player was Milfred Miguel. Most improved player was Delson Sam. These footballers will graduate this year. fTop: R. Nash, V. Whatoname, A. Norris. Middle: R. Poleahla, P. During the season the competition was tough. The opposing teams were well coached. We tried hard to work together as a team. We were never really able to function as a unit, and this, I believe, led us to a dismal season of one win and seventeen losses. We had the ability to compete with the best of them, but the sacrifices and dedication to win were sometimes lacking. Missed practices ob- viously hurt a great deal. 106 ia p. !
