ADMINISTRATION Superintendent, James D. Wallace In the many experiences of life, a very important step is our graduation from high school. As each stu- dent reaches this level, he should realize that he has acquired certain tools of education that he must apply to situations as they occur. Through learning by doing we climb the ladder of life. How far our lives reach will depend on how we accept the challenges. The op- portunity will be given each of us to apply the skills we have learned to the earning of our livelihood. One of our most used expressions has been It is up to you. Successful living can be yours, if you practice good citizenship, have good personal habits, and use your academic and vocational abilities to earn success The staff joins me in wishing to each of you the best in life. . . 30. 2 SENIOR SPONSORS Don Ellis Barbara Judd Melvin La Clair J. D. Tickle Frank Castillo This year girls in the graduating class have almost a two to one ratio over the boys. May 16th one hundred and sixty of you graduates will receive diplomas. Through exercising your talents, Phoenix Indian High School will be richer by your having been here. Nineteen senior voices enriched the many selections the school Choir rendered during the year. Eleven seniors contributed to the enjoyment of the students and public during the numerous band performances on and off campus. Twelve seniors donned football uniforms and performed creditably on the gridiron. They made a couple opposing teams literally eat lime and bite the dust. Three were members of the cross country team and five rolled up one sided scores by showing their heels to opponents on the hardwood court. Best wishes will go with you from everyone who had a part in preparing you for the objectives you chose. Your diversified talents will aid sports, dramatics and speech. Commencement is not the end. It is the beginning. Your diploma will indicate that you are beginning a difficult road that may lead to outstanding success. There will be many pitfalls you will have to evade. Sacrifices will become more severe as you climb toward the pinnacle of your goal. Your world is a keenly competitive one. Through the diligent application of your will to win you can succeed. Mary Williams May God bless you in your efforts. The Senior Sponsors. (Practical Nurse) AUTOGRAPHS 25 JUNIOR CLASS Ruth Blunk Sandra Trookman Not pictured A time of change. . . The northwind blows its frost and cold across the valleys, plains, and mountains. And. . . red, yellow, brown, and gold carpet the earth. Rain will fall to create rivulets, or feeling the breath of the northwind, settle gently to blanket man and his with a coat of white. And then the sun shines! The seeds of squash, and corn, and pumpkin embrace the earth, and all things change. The wind is warm, the rain is gentle; with the sun- shine the seeds are no longer seeds. Man and our age move on in a re- lentless search for knowledge, truth, and a better life, ever changing. And we, too, must change to be a part of this stream of mankind. But. . .The northwind returns, the leaves fall again, the snow abides, and more seeds await the sun, and planting. Changes, but ever dependable. Yes! We will change to make our contribu- tions to knowledge, truth, and a better life for all, but we shall strive to main- tain our dependability. - The Class of 1967 Winton Coles Hazel Constance Florence Cook Charles Feuerstein Alice Gleiser Clyde McMillin Mary Rose Abe Ivaleen Adams Marcelina Adams Ronald Adams Bernadette Adley Cecil Allison k Joseph Andrews Gloria Anguiano Steven Antone Jimmy Arm boy Della Mae Bahe Bahe Barlow Beatrice Beeson Carlton Beeson Alice Mae Begay Bruce Begay Chester Begay Etta Begay Jimmy Joe Begay Ella Mae Begody Paul Benton Eugene Billie Betty Lou Cassadore Delbert Cesspooch Julia Chee Marvin Chee Stella Chee Eva Chi ago Arlene Chinche Bessie Cling Dollie Cly Betty Carmen Cody John Cohoe Edward Coochwikvia Reginald Coochwikvi Phoebe Dabbs Wave Dashee Larry David Johnny E.
