PROGRESS May I personally extend a vote of thanks to all the students and to all the staff mem- bers who have made this school year such a memorable one. You have worked cooperatively as a team and although there has been a great deal of construction on the campus and some shop classes housed in temporary quarters you have not permitted these elements to interfere with the educational program. Plans for seniors have been carefully laid. Our job now is to see these plans com- pleted. Keep in mind that the students who follow, want the opportunity for em- ployment and further training, and this, in a large measure will depend on your successes. New dormitories, new classrooms and new shops will do much to move our school program forward. However, the key to learning is still within the teacher and the student. We provide excellent leadership and now, with the finest housing and classrooms, plus good equipment and sufficient supplies, we must not fail. The responsibility of each student is great. You must meet it squarely with real determi- nation and effort. Now that school is out I hope each student has made plans to either work or attend summer school. Don't let the summer months halt your learning progress. If you work there is no reason why you can't carry on a reading program of your own. Lastly, save a little time for rest and recreation. ADMINISTRATION PROGRESS MEANS CHANGE Wherever we look in today's world there appears to be many changes that affect each of our lives. The change may be in our academic learning, it may be in our physical makeup, it may even be in our spiritual outlook. As days mount to weeks and weeks to years, we all either grow up and mature or we find ourselves getting old without keeping up with our associates. Academically each of us has potential to develop along with our world. If we take advantage of the opportunities our associates offer us, whether they are teachers, counselors, or other friends, we should develop our mental outlook, our spiritual background, and our physical body. In this highly competitive world we cannot stand still because everyone and everything around us moves on, generally to a higher level. As we look around and stop to evaluate ourselves, just how satisfied are we with our achievements. We only have to look on our school campus and see the changes that are taking place in the physical plant to see that changes do influence our lives. Look on each of our Indian reservations where roads, water, gas, electricity, are changing the habits of our people. Like time — progress marches on. James D.
