Hubert Freistatter, our foreign student, and Mr. James Charles, A.F.S. advisor. Dear Students of PCS! Dear Citizens of Phoenix! During this year I felt very happy according to your kindness. It was the most impressive and one of the happiest years in my life. I thank everybody very much, especially my American parents, brothers and sister and the Student Council of PCS. I hope, when I have left, our friendship will last, so as to serve the purpose of the AFS program, the friendship between all countries of the world. And I have an entreaty to you: please receive the following AFS students as well as you did receive me and help them as you helped me and I am sure you will have the same nice time as we had. Thank you very much, may God bless you, Hubert Freistatter Hubert's school. -4-4 AFS. In the past five years Phoenix has been fortunate to have American Field Service Students from Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Guatemala, and Greece. Phoenix High has also been able to send three students to Europe for summer programs. This pro- gram supported yearly by the Student Council has introduced to Phoenix Central many friends and increased our understand ing and knowledge of foreign nations. It is a gratifying ex- perience to see that cultural and language differences do not curtail friendship and understanding between people. James Charles Hubert's home in Austria.
