' MISSING INACTI TemHenry + Boyceaussel 9W WITH this issue the Pilot Wheel celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary. A quarter of a century is a long time, either in the life of an individual or of a publication. The world is a very different place than when the first year book came off the press. During this interval we have experienced a great economic depression which has materially altered the pattern of American living, and a world-wide war whose effects cannot yet be estimated. But throughout all this period, year after year the Pilot Wheel has been produced by the student body of Phineas Banning High School as a memorial of its activities. A glance at these earlier annuals reveals that our school has changed too as the years have passed. The students are more numerous, the faculty larger, the buildings augmented, and the course offerings more varied than they were twenty-five years ago. There is an esprit de corps that has grown up and knit together the various groups within the school ' so that today association with Banning High School is a privilege to be envied. It means something to say that one goes to Banning. How the next quarter century will affect our school can only be surmised. But student body and faculty alike are confident that, come what may, i there will be continued growth and development. Twenty-five years hence, when the silver jubilee has become our golden anniversary, the words Phineas Banning High School will still stand proudly carved in stone above the entrance-the name of one of the great schools of America.
