In other departments of interest . . . Spring class valedictorian SHIRLEY FAYE BANKS outscored all other ROTC sponsors in city-wide competi- tion. The signal honor made her the first Black Brigade Sponsor in the histo- ry of the school system. The system will never be the same after the death of MR. DAVID BRAD- FORD. Known to the Wheatley family as Mr, Wlheatleyf, MR. BRADFORD served as director of student activities and teacher of social science. The class of ,65 in its dedication of the yearbook spoke of Mr. Brad, . . , one whose life became a shining example to us, one who has striven for right at all times, . . . one who has served with selfless- ness, one who has laid foundations of devotion in the hearts of many . . .
