MR. JACK MANN, Boys Adviser Mr. Mann was born in Opelika, Alabama. and was graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile. He has an A.B. degree from Birmingham-Southern College and a masters degree from Samford University. Mr. Mann nas been at P.H.S. for five years. In these five years he has taught English and vocal music and was made boys’ adviser in 1966. The Ushers Club and the Stage Crew are sponsored by him. Mr. Mann is very active in civic affairs. He works closely with Town and Gown Theater and is very active in the civic opera. His work on the executive board of the Birmingham Music Club also claims part of Mr. Mann's time. MISS LILLIAN GATCHELL, Girls' Adviser Miss Gate he 11 has been a familiar sight around P.H.S. for almost 40 years. Thirty of these years she spent teaching history. In 1957 she was made girls’ adviser. Miss Gaichell went to Alabama College and then transferred to the University of Alabama, from which she received her A.B. and masters degrees. Miss Gatchell is a past trustee of the Alabama Education Association and past president of the Birmingham Education Association. This year she was chairman of the welfare committee of the B.E.A. and president of the Birmingham Teachers’ Club. The remodeling of the school was as orderly as possible this year as a result of Miss Gatchell's careful planning and management. MISS SNOW ELL ANDERS, Registrar Since September of 1941, Miss Anders has been working in the P.H.S. office. She is the head registrar and is In charge of the absentees, attendance reports and MRS. WILDA IVEY, Bookkeeper Mrs. Ivey is in charge of all money taken in and spent by the school. She is in charge of sending out and keeping in order the transcripts and records of trie students. Mrs. Ivey has been a part of our office staff for nine years.

ADMINISTRATION MR. EDWARD AULL, Principal Mr. Aull attended Wentworth Military Academy, got his A.B. degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and his M.S. degree from the University of Alabama. He taught school at Wentworth Military Academy, Poncey High School in Puerto Rico and Hoke Smith High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Aull came to the history department of Phillips in 1928. From head of the history department, he was promoted to the position of boys' adviser. When Mr. Sellers Stough vacated the principalship in 1957, Mr. Aull assumed the office. History is more than a hobby for Mr. Aull as he has written two historical pieces. In speaking of his years of service Mr. Aull remarked, The years seem to run together after you've been with a school as long as 1 have been with Phillips.

COUNQELORS LEND A HELPING HAND TO STUDENTS MRS. AGNES CLARK. Counselor MR. DON BELCHER. Counselor Mr. Belcher received 3 B.S. degree from Samford University and a M.A. degree from the University of Alabama. The two years he spent at Minor Elementary School was his first teaching experience. Mr. Belcher has been a counselor of the juniors and seniors at Phillips since January. 1966. Senior Larry Silvers seeks Mr. Belcher's advice. Mrs. Clark attended Birmingham-Southern College, the University of Alabama, and William and Mary University. She has an A.B. degree, a certificate in social work and a M.A. degree in counseling and guidance. Before coming to Phillips, Mrs. Clark taught the eighth grade at Green Acres Elementary School. This was her first year as a counselor at Phillips. Mrs. Clark distributes literature to Charlotte O’Hare and Kathy Vasilakis.
