Class Poem FIRELIGHT FLICKERS The evening firelight flickers, The golden flame grows bright, As memories of our high school days Steal across the light. Our high school days have come and gone They all passed very fast. But while the firelight flickers bright The memories shall last. A spark flies from the fireplace. Our minds turn back the date. From January of fifty-two To nineteen forty-eight. A group of Freshmen running 'round With proud but worried looks. Searching hard for two-fourteen— And lockers for our books. It didn't taks us long to learn. We figured up the scores. Another year and we became Those mighty-smarty” Sophomores. The year that thrills our memories. One we shall remember, Is the year that we were Juniors. It started in September— Our Raiders were the Heroes! Winners every game! Defeating the Woodlawn Colonels They made secure our fame. The firelight flickers once again, Our memories are clear, t As we review delightful times, Brought by our Senior year. We ll all remember Showboat— A most exciting day. And how could wc forget ' Footloose” ' Our wonderful Senior Play. Our Senior parties filled with fun. And graduation night. Will be among the memories Seen in the bright firelight. —Ann Garrhon
