PREFACE YQ N presenting this the twenty-third volume of the PEAN to the school, the alumni, and the world in'general, we have but few words to say. For months the Board has labored to make the book a successful one and one truly worthy of old Exeter and the Class of Nineteen Seven. We realize how difficult has been our task, for the standard of Exeter is high and the record of Nineteen Seven, which this volume is to represent, has indeed been a remarkable one. How well we have succeeded is for you to judge. We are not unconscious of its many imperfections, and we hope that future boards who use this book as a model tif ever any doj will strive to im- prove upon it as we have endeavored to excel the Pi-LANs of the past.
