meeting of our preparatory year, we won the tug-of-war. Think of preps having the four strongest men! This we again won in the following year, and we probably should have won it yet again had not that contest been excluded from our list of events, and finally abolished. We have been successful in the other tournaments of our course, always taking our quota of prizes. One thing truly remarkable is, that many of those prominent in school interests, society and music especially, were our classmates, but they have nearly all left us, still their influence has been felt during their absence. The class now seems to be purged of all its unworthy members, and our excellent Principal and Faculty are full of hope, and assurance of the future success of the generation which intends soon to bid adieu to old Phillips Exeter. We wish her many anniversaries in prosperity, and, like children about to fare abroad, with our minds stored with the precepts of our parent and the hope of honoring her alway, we wave our good-by as we enter the larger sphere of our education. fI2D
