Aman View by rf.-,vine swam Our School The shake-down cruise is over, the vessel of education is now under steam for its second year. Many ofthe kinks to be found in anything new have been worked out, and the process of education continues within this magnificent structure. The first class of seniors was graduated from this building last year. A full year of extracurricular activities was carried out. The building was not all that was new last year. New courses, new clubs, new sports, new instructors, new rules, new freedoms-all were typical of the transition period. Now that period is passed, we may now move forward to new heights in all endeavors, confident that the facilities afforded by our school will enable us to receive the best in education. Buildings, of course, do not make pupils: but buildings may help pupils become students by alilording them the opportunity to advance in many areas. We feel our school can and will do this.

Dedication JENNINGS D. JOHNSTON With fondest memories we, the Class of 1960, dedicate this year- book to Mr. Jennings D. Johnston, who suddenly passed cway Sunday, September 20, 1959, while he was showing our new school to some of his relatives and friends. As a member of the schooI's maintenance stat? he had become in- valuable to the students, faculty, administration and other staff mem- bers. He was very cheerful, friendly and willingly helpful to everyone. Mr. Johnston will be remembered by all with sincere attection and respect.
