The band furnished music at the majority of the football and basketball games and at various gatherings held with the school and town. O. of championship Penn State boxing team, to referee the bouts, and also to have a preliminary exhibition bout between Mike Zeleznock, captain of Penn State mittmen and Eastern Inter-collegiate 135 Tb. title holder, and Frank Goodman, also a member of the Nittany Lion boxing team and champion of the 145 Tb. class. This is the first year Philipsburg High School has had boxing and it proved very successful under the expert coaching of Coach Spangler.
