They responded to the call for football and basketball players with much enthusiasm. While there were several outstanding players, teamwork was the real keynote to their success. As we take a look into the future of basketball, as well as football, we seem to see the foundation laid for great athletics in the Senior High for the next three years. The Freshmen, upper classmen and leaders of the Junior High, elected the following of- ficers who ably performed their required duties: President ......,.s.. --- - .,..... -e Lewis Adams Vice President ----- .... This team had a successful season, winning 5 games, losing 3, and tying 2. A football banquet, sponsored by the local service clubs, Kiwanis and Rotary, was greatly appre- ciated by the boys. Bob Higgins, All-American End from Penn State in 1919, and now head coach at that institution, was the feature speaker of the evening. Bob told of his experiences as a player and some of his school day friends' experiences in that particular sport. He stressed the importance and value of friendship formed in the sport world. The Banquet-Dinner was prepared by the girls of the Domestic Science Department, under the capable supervision of Miss Stover. The team's successful season was not wholly due to the ability of the players. Mr. Spangler, our skillful athletic coach, worked very hard in training the squad. 55552 ,'.'
