Freshman Class History On june 6, 1956, twenty-nine girls entered the Philipsburg State Hospital School of Nursing. Although we were from different localities and knew little of each other, we shared one thing in common-our desire to become nurses. To us, our first six months were sometimes diflicult and we faced some disappointments. Twenty-seven of us were capped on December 1, 1955. This was an event we will remember always, for this was our first big step toward be- coming graduate registered nurses. In the months that followed we shared many happy moments, a few sad ones, and look forward to more in the next two years. With twenty-five now in our class we have been able to assume much respon- sibility. Although our classes are about ended, we are still learning much through our experiences on the floors. Now that nearly one year has gone by, we realize the importance of and appreciate all the help we have received from the staff and instructors.
