lunior Class Histor f Our Junior year has come to an end, leaving behind us many experiences and cherished memories. Once more We cross a bridge leading to our goal in the nursing career. How the time has Hown by-We traded our Freshman classes for new experiences in Obstetrics, Operating Room Technique, Pediatrics, and the Diet Kitchen. These special serves teach us many things and many never-to-be forgotten memories. Our Psychiatric affiliation in VVarren, Pa., separated us for the first time when four of our class members left to study this Held of nursing for three months. This past year has been filled with many special activities. Parties, dances, and the little sessions We had nightly in our rooms have brought us closer together as a class. So, to you the Seniors, about to graduate and cross the final bridge on the road to becoming an RN., we Wish you all the luck in the World and much happi- ness in the years to come. We wish to express our thanks for helping us through our junior year and helping make it an unforgettable milestone in our road leading to being successful nurses. To you, the Class of 1956, we extend our heartiest congratulations on reaching the height of your goal-GRADUATION! Louise Ashcroft Barbara Beckwith Hose Cebulka Nancy Erickson 46

Freshman Class History On june 6, 1956, twenty-nine girls entered the Philipsburg State Hospital School of Nursing. Although we were from different localities and knew little of each other, we shared one thing in common-our desire to become nurses. To us, our first six months were sometimes diflicult and we faced some disappointments. Twenty-seven of us were capped on December 1, 1955. This was an event we will remember always, for this was our first big step toward be- coming graduate registered nurses. In the months that followed we shared many happy moments, a few sad ones, and look forward to more in the next two years. With twenty-five now in our class we have been able to assume much respon- sibility. Although our classes are about ended, we are still learning much through our experiences on the floors. Now that nearly one year has gone by, we realize the importance of and appreciate all the help we have received from the staff and instructors. Also, to you Seniors, we express our thanks for aiding us to adjust to our new environment. Congratulations and best wishes on attaining your goal. Nancy Beardslec Marilyn Buck Donna Dinant 48
