names ,xdfnmnae Mocioalfion The Nurses Alumnae of the Philipsburg State Hospital was organized in 1926. Quoting from the constitution the object is as follows- To advance the standing and interests of the graduates of the training school. To extend aid to those in trouble or sickness. To promote social activity. To raise the standing of nursing to the highest plane. Our organization keeps close contact with the American Nurses Association and the Pennsylvania Nurses Association by sponsoring graduate as well as student representation to na- tional, state, and district meetings. Monthly meetings are held by the association on the second Thursday of each month with certain special activities, such as the Annual White Elephant Party in January, Mother and Daughter Dinner in May, Picnic in July, and Dinner and Dance for the graduation class in August. To date we have 209 active members. In memory of Cecilia Ferlitch, who gave her life in World War Il, the association also presents an award to the most out- standing student nurse in the senior class. OFFICERS President .....,. .,...
