The Nurses Alumnae Association of the Philipsburg State Hospital looks toward a future of service to the Training School and the Nurses of the Hospital. This year the Alumnae Association takes pleasure in presenting the Lieutenant Cecelia Ferlitch award to Miss Josephine Wisor. It A rs. Rhoda Hamer The Nurses' Alumnae Association of the Philipsburg State Hospital was organized in 1926. Quoting from the Constitution the object was as follows: The purposes for which this association is formed are: to advance the standing and interests of the gradu- ates ofthe Training School for Nurses of the Philipsburg State Hospital, to extend aid to those in trouble or sick- ness, and to promote social activity and good fellowship among its members, and to raise the standing of nursing to the highest plane. Our organization keeps in close contact with the American Nurses Association and the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association by sponsoring student as well as graduate representation to national, state and district meetings. Monthly meetings are held by the Association on the second Thursday of each month-with certain special activities as: Annual White Elephant Party in January, Mother and Daughter Dinner in May, Picnic in July and Dinner and Dance for the graduating class in August.
