The Accounting So- ciety is a professional as well as social organi- zation. lt sponsors speaker meetings on topics in Accounting, along with our annual forum focusing on ca- reers in accounting. We also run social events such as our an- nual barbeque and trips to the casinos, but, our main goal is to enhance the Account- ing program, to the benefit of the colleges accounting majors. The Marketing Society is an organization for market- ing majors and other busi- ness related fields. The soci- ety is also a member of the American Marketing Associ- ation. A number of activities were planned and held this year. In the fall semester, lntercolligiate Day was held. Students from other col- leges visited Textile to hear speakers in the field of Mar- keting, advertising, and merchandising. A buffet dinner was held afterward. It was an informative day for everyone. The fall se- mester also included the Clio Awards film, a skating party with the Commuter Club, and a trip to the Casi- nos in Atlantic City, NJ. Events for the spring semes- ter will include a fund raising basketball game with the Philadelphia Eagles. A field trip to New York City and an awards banquet has been planned to end a fun and successful year for the Marketing Society. THE MUSICIANS GUILD This year af fhe Philadelphia College of Texfiles and Science, a new organizafion, The Musicians' Guild, was formed. Founded by Ze'ev Psivlin, a sophomore af fhe college, fhe guild was esfao- lished TO offer musicians OT fhe school an opporfuni- ry ro communicare, inreracr, learn and perform rogefher. Besides worlsing with each ofher, fhe guild also prepared and performed several shows: a winfer Holiday Concerf and a spring COOCGVT.
