Death in the abstract is hard to understand-when it takes one of your peers it is hard to accept. George Billingsley was born on September 20, 1947, he died on October 20,1969 at the age of 22. He was older than the typical member of the Class of 1971, George had fulfilled his military obligation and attended the University of Delaware before coming to Textile in September of 1967. He was an active member of the Stu- dent Body. He was a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, a member of the Class of 1971 Council, active on the Orientation Committee as a Sophomore, and always present for Newman Club functions, especially co-ed sports. The Class of 1971 wishes to pay tribute to George by this remembrance and hopes that this helps the memory of George to live a little longer. 31
