TKE has an active alumni association, 'frhe Textile Teke , our alumni news letter, is distrib- uted four times a year. A Hal- loween costume party and the Founders' Day Banquet in May are highlights. Tekes have learned that a successful chapter needs more than just social events. Each fall a halloween party is held for youngsters at the Stenton Orphanage. On several weekends, Tekes worked on the restoration of the Ebene- zer Maxwell Mansion in Germantown. Last spring we particated in the WFIL Multiple Scle- rosis Marathon. ln addition to participation in all intramural sports the Tekes support the Textile teams. Twenty-five Tekes were in the crowd at the Textile-Elizabeth game last year. Several broth- ers traveled to the NCAA basketball finals last year in Indiana. Tau Kappa Epsilon's Most Improved Chap- ter Award was given to Kappa Omicron this year. It was organized from the former local sorority, Kappa Sigma Phi. The sorority joins together women of like interests with a common desire within, for the exchange of knowledge and the encouragement of fine ideals. Dur- ing the year, some of the sorority's activities included: collection of clothing for the Navajo Indians, Hostess- ing for graduationsg entertaining the children at St. X'incent's Home with the brothers of Delta Sigma Phi of La Salle and parties with other chapters. DZ has re- ceived the Social Service award for 4 years, and the Scholastic for 6 years. ll ate ,..... rc.. yi i l l
