mem This year the students of the Evening College have been Getting It All T0 89Th6f . Upon assuming the Office of President, G. Randall Ward led the gOV ernment from one achievement to another. The original goals of the government included: Tl better student relations 2l an active correspondence with the day school 3l better student-faculty relations 4l more involvement of students. In addition to the accomplishment of all the above goals the Evening College Sludettt Government also sponsored: The TEXTILE EVENING RAM, the AC Society C The 1970-71 Academic Year proved to be a very fruitful one for the EVGQTSVLS llollege Student' Government. Representing close to forty percent o IHC ear lhe Student enrollment, the Government worked on a large' Scale t ls y s a . The Philadelphia School System is shut down because faculty and administrators cannot get together. Each accuses the other of many things. The faculty complains that the School Board refuses to give them the raises they think they deserve. Added to this is the Board's demand that all teachers work an hour and a half longer or the schools will lose subsidies they not get from the state. However, it is another faculty-administrator conflict that disturbs me more. lt is the conflict presently brewing at Community College. It is a sad state when students have to plead to the faculty and administrators to reach a settlement. From my sources, one of the still unsolved questions t ' the art department shall be rehired after the school decided that her position was no longer needed. lt is commendable that the another and care about the welfare of one of their own. To completely disregard the welfare of the students is something .l feel just as bad as they accuse the administration at CC of P of.
