Four short years have passed since you first began your l search for truth and understanding at our College. For some these have been years of challenge and growthg for others the time spent has been less valuable yet still meaningful. All, I trust, have grown in stature and wisdom. Each of you are taking with you something of value-be it knowledge, social maturity or a combination of both. As you go forth to greater challenges our hopes go with you. For it is you, our graduates, who will bring renown not only to yourselves but also to our College. It is your suc- cesses that will give our College its reputation of excel- lence. The faculty and administration can encourage, coun- sel and challenge, but our ultimate greatness rests upon your accomplishments. lVly hope is that with pride you will always have a sense of warmth for and devotion to the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. My warmth and sincere congratulations go to each of you for your accomplishments. I trust that you will remember that commencement is as the name indicates, only a be- ginning. lvlay success, growth and happiness be yours as you continue your journey through life. DR. ROBERT W. RHOADES, Dean of Faculty It is with a particularly strong sense of personal indentification that I write these few words directed to the Class of '69, the first class that I have watched progress through the full four years. In the Fall of 1965 l arrived on campus just about two weeks before Orientation-Registration, and in remarks to the new freshmen I ob- served that we were being oriented together. The freshman year is often the time that assistance can help get an individual through a period of uncertainty. Being a freshman myself, l probably did not pro- vide very much assistance through the freshman year of this partic- ular class. However, I have taken great pleasure in watching it mature through the four years and one tribute to this maturity is the fact that we have this year the strongest group of leaders yet who have contrib- uted to changes and strides over the past four years. As the Class of '69 leaves the campus, I extend my best wishes for a future based on success and happiness, and hope for your continued interest and involvement in the significant improvement and growth of our college during the years ahead. BRUCE D. DEBRUHL, Dean of Students
