The Collegian serves as a means of allowing students to express themselves through writing and report- ing newsworthy occurrences concerning the College, its students and faculty. The student editors, staff and contributors also gain experience through the organi- zational functions ofthe newspaper and its publication. The Dormitory Council, which governs Schollar Hall and the apartments at Stafford and School Lane House, isn't really a growing body at all. lt is more of a forum, a place where the resident students can gripe and hope that their causes might be furthered. The gripes and, or sug- gestions are brought to the meetings by elected repre- sentatives from each floor. lf a majority of representa- tives think that the gripes are valid, the chairman will dis- cuss these matters further with the Dean of Students and the proper authorities. This council is allotted funds from Student Council, this past year totaling 5300, which was usedmostly to help sponsor monthly movies with Circle K. Also, among its functions is the task of discussing visitation, dorm light- ing, and cafeteria food.
