Our days as freshmen at G H S began tn Febru ary l933 at the old Grant bu1ld1ng Seventeenth and Pme streets Dr Ohve E Hart our pr1nc1pal proved both gulde and frlend frorn the start Dorothy Gordon and Anne lsraehtan our spon sors ass1sted us throughout the term Rememb r th great get together party the 9Bs gave us? Weren t we thrrlled at wltnessrng the layrng of the cornerstone tor the new G H S burldmg by Mr W1ll1am Bowen? lt was an epochal occasron and made us very proud As 9Bs we returned 1n September full fledged G H S students Our class produced The Wergh ot All Flesh at a party tor the QA s Chrrstmas act1v1t1es had us all bustlmg about the more we bustled the better we lrked rt The ded1cat1on ot the new G H S Bulldmg was neld on November 2l 1933 an event that has left an 1ndel1ble rmpressron upon us We entered SENIGR the new bu1ld1ng wrth 1ts rrch marble halls and large attractlve aud1tor1um wlth a new sense ot responsr bllrty and d1gn1ty Florence Bangert was presrdent ot our IUA class Remember the slgns l am Who are you? that we sported at our lOA Get Together Cyrano de Bergerac wrth Krtty Plucker Donna Craven and Olwyn Lewls rn the cast' Mrss Underh1ll w1th Florence Prle and Mary Caporale student sponsors gurded us successfully through the term September l934 brought us back to s hool as IOB s Wlfh Florence Young and Mabel McG1nley as our sponsors Werent the rehearsals tor the Nau trcal Revue our Chrrstmas proJect fun?
