About forty boys reported for practice. tlf those reporting, only five were letter men of the Season before. After three weeks of hard training, the Tornado started off the season true to t'orn1, by beating' the Union team by the overwhelming score of 49-tl. Coach Klindworth saw then the need of football knowledge where weight was lacking, so he drilled the boys into a perfectly timed machine. ' Un October ltlth the Tornado met the Houston team on the home field. Again the Tornado triumphed with a seore of 27-tl. The 'l'ornado felt keen competition when on October 17th it drove Newton down to tl1e defeat of 19-7. The next game was one of the greatest fights ever put up onour gridiron, the battle with the Louisville VVildcats. The Tornado felt the pangs of defeat after a hard fought battle ending with the score of 9-0, tl1e first defeat in a series of twenty-eight games. On the next Friday the Tornado met the strong Morton team on the local field. The fighting' qualities of the Tornado, especially the line, were shown in this gaine with a victory of 19-0. , The next game was held at Forest. After a. hard fought and excit- ing' game the Tornado felt it's second defeat by the score of 12-0. On tliaiiksgiviiig' day the local team met Quitman on the local field. Although the Tornado was greatly out-weighed they made the most Yards and the most touchdowns. Tn the last three minutes of play Quitman made the decisive touchdown, defeating the Tornado with the Score of 27-21. V 46 1930

Mat will not be with us next Year. BYNUM PAT'l'ERSON, Celzvter This was Bynum's first year on the foot- ball field, but he fought like a veteran. Bynum will be with us next year with his constant will to win. ERWIN IDERNIENTER, Guard Erwin is the kind of player who does his best at all times. Erwin's quickness and power of charging gained many yards for the Tornado. Erwin will remain on the Tornado team next year.
