AUGUST 18. 1981 The Class of 1985 assembled for the first time in Room 153 Evans Hall, ignorant of the events which would transform them from student to Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine . The first two years were devoted to learning the fundamentals of medicine. A student ' s day was no longer his own. Time revolved around labs, infinite lectures, more labs and the oppressive lest schedule. Perhaps the hours spent in the classroom are best chronicled by the students lifeline -the Note Service. The daily production of lectures required the services of everyone. Two hundred and five aspiring D.O. ' s soon became proficient scribes, typists, mimeographers and lunch-time collators. Bored with pure medical facts, the scribes and typists began to interject humor and cynicism throughout the notes.
