PRESIDENT I would like to address a few words to the Graduating Class: Each of you sitting in front of me assembled this final time as a class has made unique and very personal sacrifices to reach this moment, this day. Truly, you have every reason to feel well satisfied with your accomplishment. However, you are completing one chapter only to begin the next lesson in the ongoing educational process known as life. You have heard, I feel certain, the quote contending that the world benefits or suffers Not from that which a person has learned, but from what that person DOES with that which has been learned. And what YOU do with what you have learned will be the true educational outcome of your curriculum. It has been said that the real final exam for the physician in training is the unconscious patient on the emergency room stretcher. There is more than a little truth to that statement. This Final Exam , though, will repeat itself day in and day out, with different names, different ages, different diagnoses. May you find within yourself, each time that you are thus tested, the capacity to respond with judgement, intellectual integrity, and caring. In closing these few remarks, I would say to you: You have been our students, you have given us purpose, and we will miss you. But know that, as we stand aside, it is with our love and faith in you and our prayers for your continued well being. Congratulations And God bless each of you.
