DR. WILLIAM A. MIEROP President l 3Bre5il1ent anh rustees AS I HAVE LOVED YOU Jesus said, A new commandment write I unto you that ye love one another .... The newness of it was a shift in the standard. Under the law men had heen told to love one another as they loved themselves. If man had attained that standard he would have accomplished something, hut he couldn't. Then Jesus intensified that command' ment by telling us to love each other as He loves us. If we couldn't aspire to the ideal under law, how are we going to reach the goal set hy grace? It is heartening to know that the fruit of the Spirit is love. All the affection we need to comply with the new commandment is availahle to us if we will allow the Holy Spirit to make us like the Lord Jesus. Shall we then permit the Holy Spirit to do His perfect work so that we shall love one another as He loves us? Sitting: Clarence E. Mason, Jr., William J. Jones, William A. Mierop, James J. McCutcheon, V. Clifford Harrington. Standing: Robert B. Haines III, George Schmeiser, Winfield F. Kempt, J. Willison Smith, Horace F. Dean, Elwood T. Davis, William J. Updegrave, Frederic L.
