Illlllllwllllll These are momentous days in the field of education, and Christian schools are keeping step with the progress being made. In the past year another milestone was reached in Christian education by the merging of the Philadelphia School of the Bible and the Bible Institute of Pennsylvania to become the Philadelphia Bible Institute. As the result of this merger, two lights of testimony became one glowing beacon in the Philadelphia area, but the light does not stop there. Through the many graduates its rays ex- tend far beyond, even to the ends of the earth. At His coming to earth, Christ brought Light to a world dark with sin, and at His departure He commanded His own to carry the Light to those still in darkness. Since the students of Philadelphia Bible Institute, being led of God, are here preparing for His service, we thought it very fitting that we choose as our theme for the first MILESTONE, Christ the Light, It is our intention to show how Christ is the center of our school and of each phase of our lives. Hitz Mr. J. llwight Pentecoast Because we wished to dedicate our yearbook to someone who has meant much to each student, and since we have been together as a class for only one short year, we, the Senior class, have chosen to dedicate the 1952 MILESTONE to two outstanding members of our faculty. It is with Christian love that we dedicate this book to Mr. Hitz, our teacher and friend, from whose life in the classroom, halls and offices we have seen the spirit of Christ reflected. How grateful we are for the practical exhortations he has so faithfully given to us from the Word and his own experiences. His smile and gracious greetings have been a source of en- couragement, for they have revealed the inner man that is renewed from day to day to accomplish the task God has assigned. The memory of our contacts with him, a fellow bond-slave of our Lord, will ever remain with us. We are proud to also dedicate this book to one who has given him- self so untiringly to both the study and the teaching of the Word. Such a person is Mr. Pentecost. His cheerful attitude in class, his practical applica- tion of the Word, his simple teaching of profound doctrines and prophecy, and his helpfulness and friendliness outside of class have endeared him to us. In our ministry in the years which lie ahead, we will always look back with a. prayer of thankfulness for the truths which we gleaned from this man of God.
