ee ' . x f SENIOR CLASS HISTORY It was a bright and shining morning in 1957+ when 18 scared-stiff young freshies climbed the stairs for the first time as high schoolers. This was the biggest step we had taken. Our class included Jane Caskey, Ronald Norby, David St. Louis, Ardith Beck, Carl Mattson, Larry Rosner, Ervin Buell, Lawrence Oberg, Susan Burman, Tom Wilson, Russell Lundquist, Frank Olson, Gary Spurgeon, Sharon Lucas, Alice McElroy, Carney Olson, Phil Sudinski, and Joe Pete. We had 8 very flhe time at the lHltl8tlOD. Of cgupsg, we wepg all afraid but it turned out fine. We were well represented on the athletic side, by both the boys and girls. Our class officers were: President-Ervin Buell, Vice President-David St. Louis, and Secretary-Treasurer-Phil Sudinski. Our class advisor was Mr. Boeckman- when our second year started, C1955-561, we had 18 mem- bers in our class. We lost Joe Pete but we were joined by Larry Thill. This was the year we had been waiting for. We were the ones to give the hdthtkn.When the time came,every- one had lots of fun. This year we were represented very well in all sports. Our class officers were: President-Carl Mattson, Vice President-Jane Caskey,and Secretary-Treasurer- Sharon Lucas. Alice McElroy was our Homecoming queen cand- idate. Our advisor was Mr. Kitzman. when we started our Junior year we still had 18 members in the class. Larry Thill left us but we gained John Jensen. During the school year Carl Mattson and Russell Lundquist left us. Our class had become the smallest it had ever been. Our class had two advisors, Mr. Kitzman and Mrs. Millar. We were well represented in sports this year and three of the girls were cheerleaders for the nAn team. Our class officers were: President-Gary Spurgeon, Vice President-Russell Lund- quist, and Secretary-Treasurer-Susan Burman. Sharon Lucas represented our class as the Homecoming Queen. We were very busy durins our Junior year, putting on the Prom and the Junior-Senior Banquet. We also put out the school paper. Now that we have started our last year, we are busy getting ready to graduate. At the start of the year we had 16 members. After a short while Alice McElroy left us. We had a successful class play,nHillbilly Courtshipn, and are getting ready for the is Mr. Marchel. Our Caskey,Vice President- Sharon Lucas. Ardith the Student Council. Now that we are own,we want to thank e ant phase of our lives class trip. Our advisor for this year class officers our: President-Jane Gary Spurgeon,and Secretary-Treasurer- Beck and Ervin Buell represent us on Jane Caskey was the Homecoming Queen. ready to go out into the world on our VePy0He who helped us in this import-

E l0R CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of l958,of Phelps High School, be- ing of sound mind and intellectual wit, and not acting under undue influence of any faculty members or underclassmenwhat- so-ever, do make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby declaring to revoke, and cancel any and all former wills and codicils by us at any time. To the faculty we bequeath our sincerest thanks and ap- preciation for the guidance which they have given us and the knowledge with which we are now leaving Phelps High School. To each one of the teachers we bequeath a vacation because they are going to need it. To the Juniors, we bequeath not only the honor of being the Superior Class,but also the hold on all the pop conces- sions. We also will them our carved up seats in the Hrst POW. To the Sophomore class, we bequeath our quiet and stud- ious attention in English class. Mr. kitzman would appre- ciate it. To the Freshmen class, we will all the hard work and toil that we have suffered. We also will them the following advice-Laugh heartily at all the teacher's jokes even though they aren't funny.Always carry a big pile of books home even if you don't open them. Follow in our footsteps and you will be a big success in life. Now in these last words we express the following in the form of bequeaths. I, Ardith Beck will my long legs to Charles Novatny so he can get on the first five of the WAN team next year. I, Ervin Buell will my ability to study to Erland Rii- himaki. Nay he use it to a good advantage. I, Susan Burman will my job as annual editor to anyone who wants it. I,Jane Caskey will my paper machine to the next nKnkjmn editor. Hay he have better luck with it than I did. I,John Jensen will my corny jokes to anyone with chick- ens. I,Sharon Lucas will my long brown tresses to Judy Fray- er. Maybe it'll keep her ears warm in winter. I, Ronald Norby will my quietness to Alexander Germick who could use most of it to good advantage. I, Lawrence Oberg will my basketball ability to Duane Olson. with this new skill Duane will be a sensation. I,Carney Olson will my cigarettes to anyone who doesn't want to play basketball. I, Franklin Olson will my position as Mr. Kitzman's favorite student to anyone who wants to work enough no get it. I, Larry Rosner will my trout fishing ability to Mr.Joe Albrecht, who doesn't have much luck. I, Gary Spurgeon will my jolly,care-free ways to John Dixon. I, Philip Sudinski will my ability to get along withthe nirls and teahhers to John.Konkel. May he have as much fun as I did. I, David St. Louis will my glasses to the Science De- partment for studylnp the stars. I, Tom Wilson just intend to leave peacefully. 1
