9tudents get business skills Students enrolled in business classes get a taste of the business world by learning various skills. Among the familiar faces in “T” building, two more were added. Miss Santa L. Serna and Miss Gloria Castillo are among some of the new teachers at PSJA. Other business teachers who arc gjven credit for doing a great job are Mrs. Suzanne Trawcck, Mr. Charles Cain, Mrs. Gloria Potter, Mrs. Carol DeBerry, and Mrs. Rosalinda Rodriguez. History fair part of scene The history department proudly boasts 13 teaching instructors. Two new faces were seen behind a teacher’s desk this year. Miss Kathleen Stevens, a former PSJA student, and Mr. Victor Moroles. An annual history fair, sponsored by the department, was planned for the month of March. Students enrolled in history classes were asked to participate. Mrs. Margie McCarthy teaches world history as well as sponsoring the campus publications. The Bear’s Tale and Bear Memories. History teachers arc, bottom 1 to r. Miss Kathleen Stevens, Mrs. Dorothy Hurst, Mrs. Jean Wiley, Mrs. Dora Jean Dicus, and Mrs. Margie McCarthy, top row, Mr. E. J. Ballew, Mr. William Cox, Miss Diamantina Herrera, Mr. George MacGoniglc, Mrs. Sandra Lopez, Mr. Charles Jordan, Mr. Felipe Alanis, and Mr. Victor Moroles. Looks like Mrs. Dicus’s students are turning on the charm, hoping to get a pass from her. Sorry kiddies, it won’t work. Mrs. Gwynyth Deuel, known for knitting, is study hall teacher at PSJA.

P8JA enjoys music program Mrs. Lcesa Todd assists Mr. Bill Bender, choir department head. Their activities have included school and Christmas concerts and caroling. Mr. Fete Cisneros heads the Varsity Band. He readies the Band and Bearcttcs for half time shows. Mr. Cisneros looks like he’s having a hard time with a few band members. Either tuning instruments or voices arc Mr. Pete Cisneros, band director, and his assistant Mr. Gilbert Saenz. Standing behind them is choir director Mr. William Bender and assistant Mrs. Lecsa Todd. P.E. teachers and coach, standing 1 are Mr. Julio Ayala, Mr. Don Cum-Williams. 20
