Science teachers put on fair The Science Department, headed by Mr. J. A. Badillo sponsors scicncc-oriented students in the Science Club. Members of the department accompanied the club on field trips and expeditions to Padre Island Beach, the planetarium, and other scientific sites. Along with this, the department arranged for leading scientists to speak before the students. A grant of S400 from the School Board made the third Annual Science Fair possible. It featured I.P.S.. Biology I. chemistry, and Biology II projects prepared by science enthusiasts. Three new teachers were added to the department this year. Mr. Jack McKecvcr, Mr. Domingo Sotelo, and Mr. Ramon Juniors double up on math PSJA’s Math Department added six teachers to their department. Heading it is Mrs. Shirley Saulsbury. This is the first time at PSJA in which juniors were allowed to take Algebra II and trigonometry and elementary analysis in order to have a fifth year of math. Mr. C. Clagett prepared the students for slide rule competition during a special 7:30 class. 14

Mr. Paul Earls heads the drama classes who put on several plays throughout the year for student entertainment. Miss Seitz’s students know all the answers in the far right photo and Yoli Hernandez, Joe LcClair, and Manuel Baldazo rehearse their parts in Mr. Earls drama class. 16
