GRADUATION Diplomas slgned by the Presrdent and Secretary of the Board the Superlntendent and Prmcrpal of the Hrgh School wrll be awarded all students who satrsfactorrly complete slxteen unrts of the Hugh School Course of Study PROMOT IONS Promotlon from grade to grade shall be determined by the students daily work the wrltten tests and exammatlon and the teacher s estrmate of hrs abrlrty to do the work of the next higher grade Students who were not regularly promoted but who were retained for spcral exammatlons shall le required to pass hese exammatrons before taking up the work of the hlgher grade The make up exammatlons shall be glven on Monday the hrst day of the school REPORTS Reports showmg the student s standing ln subjects and m attendance and deportment wrll be furnished parents at the close of each month Ar the close of each term the report card will show the exammatron grade Parents are requested to study these reports carefully because rt rs rmportant that they understand fully the character of the work whlch rs bemg done by therr chrldren We shall apprecrate the co operatron of all the parents rn our eflorts to make the school accomplrsh the best results RECORDS A permanent yearly record of the work done by every chrld rn the school rs hled ln the Supermtendents ofhce at the close of each year A record of the credrts of all DISCIPLINE The dlscrplme of the school wrll be strong and hrm but reasonable It rs our pollcy to have as few hxed rules as rs consrstent wrth the best rnterest of the school Every effort wlll be made to st mulate rn the student the desrre and power to act from prrncrple and to do rrght because rt IS rrght and to develop rn hrm a sense of honor and a hugh regard for the truth All approprrate means wrll be used to rnculcate a manly and womanly sprrrt and to preserve such order as wrll lung about the best results rn the school work EXAMINATIONS The school year IS drvlded mto two semesters and at the close of each semester an exammatlon covering about four days IS grven Wrrtten tests are glven near the close of each month THE LIBRARY The lrbrary occupres a large well ventrlated nd well lrghted room Books to the value of approxrmately eighteen hundred dollars SISOO 00 have been provrded Besrdes varlous reference and source books rn all the hugh school subjects supplementary readmg books for the grammar school students classrcs for the hrgh school books on general lnformatron and culture the collectron mcludes three Encyclopaedras Student and Teachers the Brrtannrca and the Internatronal Encyclopaedras All the leadrng high school students is also kept on file.
