Well, let’s list them: Schedul- ing dates at a later time of the night, not doing homework until the next morning (shucks), meeting new people who are sometimes obnoxious. Of course managers who are real . . . well you don't like them. Staying up late, waking up ear- ly, cleaning up everyone else’s mess after the store has closed. There are several that have been missed but everyone is sure to agree that the job they detest the most is the dreaded inventory. Pressure Builds for Juniors Pressure, pressure, pressure. If there’s one word to describe the way every student feels about school, it’s got to be pressure. The first few weeks of school are liveable, by the beginning of the third six weeks everyone is counting down the days to Christmas vacation. But, with Christmas vacation comes the end of the semester, and with the end of the semester comes finals. Cramming for one class and then for the other, staying up late, and waking up early are all a part of getting ready to pass some of those tests that seem to drag on forever. Before you know it they are all over and everyone is home for two weeks to take a break and get some of that pressure off. The two weeks fly by and soon it’s the start of a new six weeks, and what does that mean? Oh yes, the wonderful, never forgetable, research paper. With deadlines to meet, and still a ton of unanswered questions, again that horrible pressure begins to build. But somehow we manage to get through, and finally it’s just history. Nevertheless, the pressure is still building because now everyone wants to plan their Spring Break trips. After the planning, and the vacation, and even more school, we find ourselves in the midst of yet another round of finals. The pressure continues to rise along with the summer temperatures outside, and soon as the last final is taken, the ultimate relief you’ve been waiting for all year, is finally here. “It’s summer!’’, and the pressure is suddenly gone. — by Kriss Kruemke Photo by Tammy Bradley Coke machines make change from one dollar bills, if the bill is in good enough shape for the machine to recognize it from counterfeit.
