Again, and always, comes this question, Where do I find myself and my meaning projected against Time? Perhaps there is no final solution, but there is help from the wisdom of such people as Boris Pasternak who wrote in Doctor Zhivago, What is it about you that you have always known as yourself? .... You in others—this is your soul. This is what you are. This is what your con- sciousness has breathed and lived on and enjoyed throughout your life—your soul, your immortality, your life in others. And what now? You have always been in others and you will remain in others. And what does it matter to you if later on that is called your memory? This will be you—the you that enters the future and be- comes a part of it.

Dr. Schreyer as professor, committee member, author, counselor, minister, and individual. Dialogue is an important theological concept. Its many connotations include the idea of meaning- ful interchange with one's Creator as well as one's human brothers. For Dr. George M. Schreyer, dialogue is the way to a vital, searching, honest Christianity. A recognized author, he received degrees from Wofford College, Duke University, and Boston University. Dr. Schreyer is married and has a teen-age daughter, Joy. He does not allow himself or his students to be satisfied with half-answers. For this dialogue of concern and inspiration we dedicate the 1966 Ch imes to Dr. George M. Schreyer, Chairman of the Division of Religion and Philosophy. 22
