Saturday night : There are a few stars, some, not many. A light burns furiously as a student reads. A clock keeps time for another sleeping in his own world. Across the feathered lawn the watchman stands beneath an oak to catch his breath. The crickets make some noise; the trees are still; the lights are gone from almost everywhere. But in the gym, music crowds the time away. Inside there are no crick- ets, no watchman, no oak tree, no sleep except the nodding of a few weary ones. There are lights, dim. Somewhere someone looks in the window and listens, and wishes. It only lasts for a few hours. At twelve the Cinderellas fade; Prince Charmings turn again to void when morning comes. Pink and yellow. Red and green. A Saturday spectrum that hides reality. Sunday morning : there are a few clouds ; it drizzles rain, not much, just a little.
