SPRING J Jr g J x.4y S( y' a time of the budding of trees, of the bursting forth of color in shrubs and flowers, of the singing of birds as they wind their way back to this fair land — a time of happiness and joy, of a resurgence of vitality and new life, of new ideas and new ideals, of a rededication of self to the higher things of life as we hear again the Easter story — a time of development as students come to have a greater capacity, for some their first rung in the ladder of a college education — a time of graduation, with its co-mingling of joy and sorrow, of remembrance and anticipation, of that moment of reaching the goal toward which we have been working during all these happy seasons at Pfeiffer College. . . . a time of stillness, of quietness, and of seeming lack of life in the world of nature — . . . a time of rest while bulbs and seeds lie dormant underneath the frost and occasionally snow-covered earth — . . . a time of the happy abandon of getting ready for Christmas holidays — . . . a time of examinations, of beginning the second semester, high- lighted by the Washington Ball and the presentation of George and Martha Washington — . . a time of growth and maturity as students settle down to the more serious aspects of college life, of the evidence of progress in indi- vidual and group living.
