Class Prophecy Good evening ladies and gentlemen. This is WMNC in Misenheimer, North Carolina. To- night we have some very interesting news about former Pfeiffer students. Hiram Black is now editor of the new Misenheimer social magazine, “ I he Mizette.” Judging from the annual Bunny put out at Pfeiffer he will be a great editor for such an important magazine. This week the Music Association of Misen- heimer has as it’s guests. Miss Betty Campbell and Miss Edith Harper. Miss Campbell will render Claire De Lune, Moonlight Sonata’ and the Flight of the Bumble Bee on the or- gan. Miss Harper will sing The Love Duet from the Opera Madame Butterfly, Stella By Starlight. and as her popular song she will sing No Other Love. The Rumor Mongers have it that Norma Bogle will soon be going down the isle to the tune of The Wedding March. If this be true, then congratulations to her. Bob O’Leary has organized the first interna- tional basketball team. They are called The Fighting Panthers. Assisting him with his fam- ous team is Steve Kostow, Harry Hunsucker. and Leon Shaw. Harry, in his spare time, is manager of the Copa Bama on Cline Ave., in Misenheimer. Flash! Judy Davis has just become the new editor of the Rowe News. the town's daily paper. We really ought to have a good paper from now on. Pat Watterson, new president of the Ath- letic Association in Misenheimer. announces that her vice-president will be Betty Lowdcr and her secretary will be Joyce Weaver. Betty B.B. Daves, rising artist, has re- turned to Misenheimer to display a collection of paintings she made while she was in the Swiss Alps. Everywhere you go you hear the name Dulin. The explanation. Josephine and Christine Dulin are the world famous Rayve Twins. They have been advertising Rayve permanents over two years, and have been all over the world showing women how to make their hair beautiful. More people are using Rayve than any other home permanent. Another musical! Peggy Shields, author of July in Maine, will present her new show, Glory Be, at the Municipal Auditorium. No- vember 20. Looks like Pat Watterson is having a little competition. Ruth Lemons has started another athletic club. She calls it The Healthy Kids club. The Methodist Church has received a letter from Ruth Madison and Dot Bruce, who are missionaries in Siberia. Russia, saying that their work is proving that all the people in Russia were not completely ruined by the work of Comm un ism. Emily Kilgore has returned to Misenheimer for a short visit. She is head supervisor at Bell Telephone Company in Tech. Georgia. Ihe Oxford Children’s Home has a new superintendent, and the children are very happy about the whole thing. You see. she is the first woman to become head of the home. She is our own Claudia Bobbie Halliburton. Bobbie was once a student of the home. Prominent lawyer, Robert Wilkinson, has a new secretary. She is Myra Harper, who was recently voted the most experienced secretary in the U. S.. typing and short-hand experience, that is. Roberta Saunders has just returned from Wake Forest where she has been visiting The Rev. William Selvey, director of Religious Ac- tivities. Lois Broyles has returned to her home town of Luray, Va., where she is now basketball coach at her ole Alma Mater. Lucy Wall, after getting her Ph.D. at U. N. C., has decided to teach English Literature at Columbia in New York. Everyone knows where Olive Poore is. If not—she is in Virginia, happily married. Jean Lewis is president of the world Y. W. C. A. and is doing a wonderful job of bringing the people of the world together in spirit. Berneice Ridcnhour is her secretary and also the musical director at Yale University. Bertha Hughes! That musical gal! She is on a tour of the world giving joy to every per- son with her lyrical voice and magnificent piano solos. Remember Clyde Beatty? Well, he has a partner. Who? Why Doris McCrary. She and Clyde have established an animal circus larger than any that was ever put together. Marilyn and Carolyn Patterson are 77?e Charlotte Observer's crime reporters. They have cracked more crimes than Harthstone of the Death Squad ever hoped to solve. Peggy Todd and her husband Richard have returned to Misenheimer to visit friends. This is a flash! Virginia Underwood is in the Tennessee mountains teaching the hill-billies to speak Spanish. Jack Moore has finished his legal bar ex- amination. His high dream is to become the judge of the Misenheimer district. 25

Class Prophecy One week from tonight we will have a gen- uine square dance at the community barn. Le- roy Gilliespie, The Mad Fiddler, and his men will give out with the good ole folk tunes. Accompanying him on the guitars are Keith Little and Carlton Rogers. Robert Freeman will do the calling. Lee Hicks, who happens to be a girl, has returned to Misenheimer to teach Bible at the public school and become head of the Religious Activities Committee. The New York Yankees’ newest pitching sensation is Karl Friedricks. He whizzes that ole apple right by the batters and they can't hit what they can't see. Looks like the Yanks are going to win their 11th consecutive World Series Penant. The newest weight lifting champ is Bry- son Irvin. One look at him and you can tell he is a weight lifter. Oh. those muscles! Remember Harold Jenkins? He is now Sec- retary of State to the Government of the United States. So far we have had only friendly terms with all nations. Jimmy Allen is Big Chief of all the college annexes in North Carolina. He keeps all of them in cokes, ice cream, candy and what- have-you. Shall we speak to James? The Third Church of Misenheimer has a new pastor. He is Rev. James Armstrong. We are really happy to have another of our boys here. Others are Rev. Cecil Myrick of the First Methodist Church and Rev. Reginald Cooke of the Second Methodist Church. Lyman De Bernie” Austin, now President of the International Crimebusters Ring, has re- ceived the Pulitzer Prize for outstanding work in that field. You see we only have one mur- der a year now that Lyman has taken over. The President of the United States, Hunter Ballew. will be in Misenheimer to speak to The American Legion, Commander Boyd Rogers an- nounces. Robert Austin, now the highest paid actor in Hollywood, will make a personal appearance at the Premier I heatre in Misenheimer, Decem- ber 5 th. Charles Bame. Boss of the F. B. I., has really done a fine job in hunting down inter- national criminals who have been smuggled into the United States. I he Lib Abner Club has elected George Barringer as it’s new president. He got his start at Pfeiffer in 1950 by wining the Lib Abner Contest on Sadie Hawkins’ Day. Home Fconomics Director at Pfeiffer, Myr- tle Bescher. has just invented a sewing machine that makes clothes while you clean house. She hasn't gotten a patent on it yet. but there isn’t any doubt that she will get it. The Brooklyn Dodgers star short-stop, Eu- gene Bolick, is out of the starting line-up due to injuries. Manager Don Lujack has substi- tuted Ray Puddin Hovis in his place. Ray usually plays catcher. Wendell Brooks and Bobby Warlick are now the top History professors at Misenheimer City College. St. Louis, which has been at the bottom of the baseball’s batting list has a new manager. I homas Burkhead is hoping to pull those Cardinals up out of that slump. Knowing Tom, there just isn't much hope for the rest of the league. The University of North Carolina has the most outstanding Home Economics Department in the world. They have the department’s chairman. Frances Cashwell, to thank for that. Walter Buddy Cavin, owner and manager of the most celebrated restaurant in the states. The Magnolia. has as his chief bottle washer the one and only Joseph Cook. Folks, this is a bulletin hot off the press from the judges of the Mr. America con- test. T he winner—Johnny Haire! Hurray for Johnny! Pfeiffer’s basketball coach. Clarence Earn- heart, was chosen top coach in the state. His assistant. Glenn Monteith. has been chosen to coach at Wake Forest next year. The Nobel Prize winner for Outstanding Literary Works. Gurley Hatley, will be in town next month to lecture to The Womens Auxil- iary, headed by Pat Parrish and Barbara Teague. Bob Huntley, recently nominated for mayor of Albemarle, has gone on a campaign tour in Stanly. Rowan, and Catawba Counties. Poli- tics you know. Herbert Ingram is now working on his Masters Degree at Ohio State University, in Co- lumbus. Ohio. Dr. James Slick Johnson, head of the Thompson Memorial Hospital in Misenheimer. has started a campaign to raise money for a new and larger children’s ward. Do your part to help him help your children. James Kennedy and Allred Perryman have a very profitable business in High Point. N. C.
