Nominees for football sweetheart were senior Kimberly lohnson, senior Daphene Holly, junior Wendie Hawkins, sophomore Lorita Shepherd and sophomore Michele Vissering, winner was Michele Vissering. Nominees forband sweetheart were seniorKaren May, senior ludy Simpson and juniorDeanna Hume. The winner was ludy Simpson. Pittsburgh dominated over Pewitt Brahmas 19 to 6. But the Brahmas played a very hard game.

Pe witt 's Varsity Brahma basketball team, coa ched b y Ron Sha w, finished the 1984-85 season with a 9- 19 record. In district action, the Bulls came up with a 4-10 slate. In predistrict action the Bulls participated in the Queen City, Pewitt and Hooks tournaments. Taking the consolation title in Queen City, the Bulls lost the third place title to Clarksville in Hooks and the consolation title to jefferson at Pewitt. The Bulls defea ted DeKalb, North Lamar, and Mt. Vernon in district play. The team was made up of four seniors - james Boyd Scott Thomas, Mark Munkres, Roy Hillis and five juniors - Rhonda Williams, Artis Whetstone, jeff Riner, Marcel Lewis, and Todd Henson. Boyd made the all-district tirst team and Thomas the second. Whetstone received Honorable Mention. The junior Varsity took the District Title with a 7-1 record. The Bulls lost only to Clarks ville in the district race but came ba ck to demolish the Tigers on the second try. The team consisted of Tracy Ranes, Anthony Whetstone, Charles Warren, Asa jiles, Charlie Douglas, Scott Turner, and Steven Luttrell. Ranes led the team in scoring with 14.46 points per game.
