At the base of the keystone are the letters S, L, C, and S. which stand for scholorship, leadership, character, and service. These are the primary principals which are held before the school as 1 couraged to strive for them. Five per cent of the class chosen in the Junior year and ten per cent chosen in the Senior year are eligible for Honor Society. The initiation ceremony for Iuniors is held in the evening with parents attending. The ceremony for Seniors takes place at a school assembly program. Both of the ceremonies are held in the spring. The founding of the Society took place in 1925 with seven- teen charter members. Miss Nellie Beebe was the sponsorer from its beginnlng until her retirement in 1949.
