Norma Baker The Ink-S1ingers of Petoskey High School is a fairly new organization devoted to further- ing creative ability through writing. The organ- ization is open to all students who can show a real interest in creative writing, with the ex- ception of seventh grade students. The group was organized in 1953-54 by Mrs. Ruth Thomp- son of the English Department. Officers are Betty Io Kearns, president, Doris Lemble, vice president: Norma Barker, secretary-treasurer. E leanor Erickson Vice-Pres. . . . ...... Doris Lemble Sec. Treas. .... Marge Murray Dramatics Club gives students the chance to partici- pate in plays. Every Tuesday at 4 PM the club meets. Usually at this time a one-act play is presented. Every year we put on two or three short plays at an assembly program for the entire school. This club is open to all Sophomores, Iuniors, and Seniors. In addition it prepares us for the Junior and Senior plays which are given each year. The Dramatics Club was organized by Mrs. Stech and under her excellent directions many successful plays have been given. 63

During the past year they have participated in various money- making activities, including concessions at basketball and football games. The money which they made from these activities goes into a fund for a bi-ennial club trip to Lansing. Mr. Murray is the adviser of this group and we are sure that they will enjoy as much success in the future as they have in the past. 65
