Ja Our Class B band has had a very suc cessful year Its members have worked hard and dlligently under the capable leadership of Mr Smlth to come up with the performance of two concerts 1n combmatlon with the vocal groups and one of band alone Along with the concerts they played at games and other school functions through the year A few of the members which were well liked by the audiences were Rhapsody in Blue fGeorge Gershwinj, Begin the Begulne fCole Por terb C1r1b1r1b1n iAlford Pestalozzaj and Cypress Silhouettes fD3.Vld Bennettj A other practice that met with enthusiastic re sponse from the audience was the use of soloists in certain numbers durlng the pro- grams All of the muslc used brought sep arate sections of the band into prominence and thus showed the excellent instrucflon each IS given The band played at a qualifying meet in Charlevoix on March 10, at whlch time they received a top Class B ratlng Un fortunately due to the dlstance and other factors mvolved they were unable to attend the Festival in Ann Arbor this spring, but they have hopes of attending next year There was also a District Festival held here on May 2, when our band was host to those from other schools.
